SECURE DESTRUCTION YOU CAN TRUST

SECURE DESTRUCTION YOU  CAN TRUST

The healing shake up

Earlier this week I was sitting in my car while stopped at a traffic intersection.  There was a large cargo truck in front of me that had the words “secure destruction you can trust” written on it.  I found this to be a very interesting and slightly comical phrase.  As I further looked at the truck it became evident to me that this truck belonged to a document destruction company, which clearly is an appropriate tagline for such a business.  However I also thought what an appropriate slogan for the healing process!  Healing is indeed a process of secure destruction that must be navigated through trust.

Many people in the general public don’t perceive the destructive or destabilizing aspect of healing.  In fact most look for “healing” because they want more stability or less perceived uncertainty.  Often what these people are really looking for is not healing, but instead something to return them to a previous state of being or functioning that has been disrupted by a set of conditions in their body or life.  Returning to a previous state of functioning is not healing, it is a temporary bandaid.  Its buys you time until you are ready to actually heal.  Healing is a deep remembering of self, of what you are beyond the conditioning, a return to unshakable and undeniable love.  What I have found is that when our life gets shook up in unfavorable ways (what we might term a crisis of sorts) this is prime fertile ground for healing.  In fact little to no healing happens without the shake up.

You might wonder why do we need the shake up?  Why don’t we just heal without things, including our bodies or lives, needing to fall apart?  The reason is that most people are not motivated in comfort.  When we feel comfortably stable there often isn’t momentum to grow.  When we are in comfort we may not even recognize that there is more to explore, share and know about ourselves.  Also we may not be able to see some of our limiting patterns and beliefs that keep us trapped in boxes inside of our own minds without the shake up.

So the shake up, the destabilization and destruction, serves.  It serves our remembrance of ourselves, which is our healing.   Its serves by breaking down that which no longer serves.  Even though we often don’t like it and would rather be anywhere else then inside of massive instability, it is required which is why it is present.   When it no longer serves it will no longer be necessary and therefore will not manifest itself, but until then it is part of the way we grow.  One of the main reasons that we suffer inside of the destruction phase of a healing process is because we don’t trust it.  We don’t trust the intelligent process of life and therefore attempt to fix it so that we can return to our previous sense of self and stability.  But what if you aren’t meant to go back to who you were before?  What if you are meant to instead recognize a new version of yourself entirely?  That is after all what healing, growth and evolution is all about.

CONSCIOUSNESS & PHYSICAL HEALING

Spirit-matter

Consciousness is a state of wakefulness or awareness.  The brighter your wakefulness or awareness is the more you recognize yourself.  This is healing.  It’s healing because to see, recognize, or remember ourselves aligns our individual perspective with the larger, more encompassing perspective that we are.  We are often looking through this tiny pinhole perspective and extrapolating it to be the ultimate truth of all that we are, when in actuality we are much, much, much more then what we see through our tiny little viewpoint.  The wider our lens becomes, the more inclusive it becomes, the more allowing we are of life and the less we attempt to control and manipulate it.  We learn to love and accept what is just as it is.  This means accepting what we don’t understand, what we don’t agree with, often what we don’t want and discovering that this is what heals us.

One might say that everything in the universe is consciousness.  That all forms that you see, feel and touch are simply awareness.  I find it interesting that there is still a deep non-recognition of this.  We attempt to manipulate forms while not paying any attention to that which is awake, alive and the essence of the form.  We are deeply unaware of ourselves.  Even when we do begin to recognize and metaphorically taste, touch and smell ourselves beyond the forms we tend to externalize or make our essence other.  In fact we put it into this fancy category that we call “spirituality”.  Spirituality or spirit is none other than you.  It is inescapable as you cannot be other than you.  Spirituality is not reserved for some people or some times or places.  It is all that there is.  You could never leave it.  You can only not recognize it.

Consciousness is not separate from matter.  It is matter.  It is simply vibrating at a slower wavelength than say thoughts or emotions.  Other words for consciousness are awareness, intelligence or information.  Awareness is intelligent.  The more your individual awareness recognizes itself the more intelligent you become.  I don’t mean the kind of mental intelligence that most of us think about as intelligence, though that is included as well, but instead I’m talking about self-organizing, self-healing, self-knowing intelligence.  This is the intelligence that organizes every single detail and moment in the universe.  Call it universal intelligence if you prefer.  This universal intelligence is in total and complete charge.  This intelligence is you.

This is why all healing is remembering.  A remembering that you are this intelligence.  The focus on consciousness knowing itself turns the brightness knob up.  More brightness means more resourcefulness, more knowing, more intelligent navigating, and better listening and attuning to self.  Seeing and hearing the lessons you are learning more clearly and feeling less like a passive victim of circumstances and conditions.  At first you become co-creator, an active participant in the unfolding of each lesson and moment, until ultimately separation ceases to be perceived and you recognize the one creator as your true identity.

Forms (including your body) are simply mirrors, pictures, reflections of consciousness, of you.  When you realize this inseparable nature you stop seeking outside of you for a magical pill or answer.  You are the magical pill and answer.  That doesn’t mean that there aren’t elements inside the seeming form mirage that will be supportive to you, as there most likely will be.  But do recognize their function as consciousness illuminators, permission slips or pathways that carve the way inside your own awareness to more deeply know itself and it’s inherent self-healing, self-organizing and self-knowing power.

Disown Everything

Disown Everything

Radical relinquishment

Think for a moment about how much ownership you claim in your life.  Look at external things like your house, car, clothes, career, business, professional titles, kids, spouse, friends, other family members.  Also peek at internal things like emotions, sensations, thoughts and beliefs.  Begin to investigate your relationship with all of the things both internal and external in your life.  How much do you think, feel or act in accordance with the thought that something is yours?  Anything that you own or claim becomes your identity and something that you then attempt to manipulate or control.  These are also the same things that we tend to worry about or that we say create stress in our lives.

If you take this all the way to the extreme end you will see that taking ownership of something as yours is the source of all suffering.  Pause for a moment and simply feel what it feels like to give everything away.  I am not talking about physical items here necessarily, though those could be included, but instead giving away everything inside your mind.  The thoughts about the sensations in your body, your emotional state of being, the list of all the things you need to do this week, your beliefs about how things work in this world and the perspectives you hold so strongly onto.  It is in these moments of relinquishment that you taste your true self, that which remains when all is left to be as it is.

Now you may think, isn’t it irresponsible, superficial or bypassing this reality to disown everything.  The first thing I would say is to do a little self-experimentation.  Disown those very thoughts and see how it feels.  I’d imagine the peace that you desire to feel and the spiritual blissful nature of yourself is what you will instantly experience.  However if that is too radical for you and you prefer to take smaller steps into peace, freedom and bliss then the second thing I’d say is to investigate what it is that you really want.  Do you want to continue to interject, impose, manage, make sure everything turns out ok for everyone, feel stressed or exhausted, feel bad for extended periods of time because you think you need to keep holding onto a particular feeling state or a story about a sensation?  Do you have a belief that being human means that you must suffer and that the human experience can’t be congruent with a permanent state of peace or bliss?  Also investigate what it is that you think you will lose if you let go and radically relinquish.  Perhaps respect, purpose, validation, worth, people’s opinions about you, your opinion of yourself, your stories about what life means and what matters, love.  It is often our fear of loss, pain, and lack of self-worth that keeps us holding onto stationary concepts of life rather than living it.  In this way we continue the cycle of suffering for ourselves because we insist on what life should look like rather than what it actually looks like.

True Power

What we give away

However paradoxical this might sound, disownment of everything is where your true power resides.  It is where the personality you steps out of the way and you come to know the real you that has been ever present but masked behind the scenes of your busy mind.  Most people have a misconception that the more they have, whether that having is physical possessions, relationships, fancy titles or roles, conceptual knowledge, respect, admiration, some special gift, etc., then the more powerful they become.  Though this is the surface appearance, the underlying truth is that true power lives not it what you have but rather in the giving away of all.

Many people have a desire to get out of the way and allow spirit to become them, live through them, and yet simultaneously they feel like they don’t know how to do this.  The one that feels like it doesn’t know what or how is the one that is trying to stay in control of and do life.  This one will never be able to figure it out because it is the one that is the roadblock in the first place.  It like a large rock in a stream.  The rock can’t figure out how to allow the stream to move through it because from the rock’s perspective its solid and fixed in place.  It has no idea how to move itself.  It needs either a large force that is other then its perceived self to move it so that the stream can flow clearly through or the rock itself needs to realize its non-solid nature.  Its the same with us.  Our minds (which is what we think we are) can’t figure it out.  Our larger awareness or consciousness must come in to move us and the only ways that it can do that is if we are either empty enough to be moved (having realized our own non-solidity) or the force is stronger than our rock like nature.

The power of personality and personal will can only go so far.  It is an important driving force and also what ultimately must be suspended and transcended if we are to grow and evolve beyond it.  Our personalities are very persistent.  They like to be right.  They hate feeling wrong.  They look at life in linear and black and white ways.  They are insistent on labelling, defining and making sense of everything they see.  They take things personally because they are by their very nature personal.  When we confuse our identity with the mind this is what becomes our perceived real reality.

When we boldly give away everything in our mind rather than accumulate, hold onto or take, we empty ourselves out so that the brighter, more luminescent consciousness that we are becomes more apparent to us.  This loosens our hold on the small person centric world view and opens us into a broader, less personal awareness.  With more and more tastes we come to know this as our self rather than the personal self we’ve assumed ourselves to be.  Loss of individuality is nirvana.  Though disownment may seem irresponsible and sometimes scary to our person, it actually feels so freeing when we do and gives us direct access to our beyond self.

Embracing Magic

Embracing Magic

The seeming void

Beautiful, young elf, walking with a unicorn. She is wearing an incredible light, white dress. The girl lies on the horse. Sleeping Beauty. Artistic PhotographyWe all want magic.  This is evident from the time that we are little kids loving superheroes, “fiction”, and fantasy.  As adults we continue this love affair with magic seeking it through healing, spirituality, books, movies, relationships and various other pursuits.  Whatever form magic takes it entices us into it.  The yearning is that the mysteries may be revealed to us, that we may feel powerful, knowing, and connected, that we may have abilities to do and be beyond the physical sensibilities and that there is an ease, effortlessness and playfulness to life.  We are truly hungry for this underneath all of the things we think life is about and all of the things we think we have to do.  Yet magic seems to be missing for most.  Even those that are “tapped in” beyond their everyday ordinary mind are not always experiencing magic.  Where does the magic go?  Why is it not always 100% our experience?

As a little girl pretty much the only thing that truly excited me was sensing beyond what was here and expanding my abilities to perceive beyond the ordinary senses.  I remember being as young as 8 or 9 years old diving into the paranormal section at the local library reading books on ESP and clairvoyance every chance I could get.  All of the TV shows I watched had something to do with the main character being seemingly “normal” while having some special power that she kept secret from everyone.  All of these things simply found me and I kept this intense curiosity and passion to myself as I did not perceive that other people in my life would either get it or share the interest.

As I got older in my teens and early 20s a deep interest in energy work arrived and with it this feeling of being extremely limited or cut off from something.  It was as if I was navigating in the dark, walking around with a blindfold over my eyes and thick mittens on my hands not being able to see or feel what was there.  The awareness of limitation of the senses became screamingly evident.  By this point in my life any direct connection to the spirit realm that I had was long forgotten and otherwise non-reinforced by my experiences.  The seeming void of disconnection felt real along with the illusion that this physical world was the only reality.

You all have your own versions of this story.  It is the story that most all of us learn in one way or another.  A world void of magic and spirit.  We think that only what makes sense to our minds is true and only what we can experience with our physical senses is real, and we believe that story even when we don’t want to and even when something inside of us knows that there’s more.

Magic comes alive

From denial to embrace

48105490 - blue sparkling background with stars. vector illustration. This denial of spirit that we learn and adopt as our own belief allows us to fit into this world experience that we are currently having.  Friends, family members and society accept our rational choices and ordinary lives.  Anything beyond that makes them feel uncomfortable.  Many people live their entire lives not knowing anything beyond the physical world that in and of itself is void of magic.  Even if people do have some experiences of magic they can’t always perceive it because it doesn’t fit within their structures and stories of what is.  I’ve seen this occur many times over the course of my life where spirit directly moves through a person so profoundly and palpably and yet the person denies having had any experience of it.  This continues to baffle me to this day and yet I’ve come to realize that denial can be very strong and when something doesn’t fit into our mind’s boxes we simply don’t know how to process or place it, and therefore can’t perceive it even when we experience it.

Even with all of the denial and disconnection from the world of magic and spirit some people have a deep knowing of something beyond the physicality of this world.  Its a knowing beyond just mind knowing.  Call it intuition or heart knowing or even faith.  Its like an inner compass that guides despite what our rational mind and beliefs tell us.  This was the case for me.  I always had a deep knowing of something beyond and a nearly complete devotion to expanding my perceptual abilities in order to be able to experience it.  This is the case for many who have penetrated the veil of the illusion of pure physicality into the world of magic and spirit.

What makes magic come alive?  Ultimately love.  Love is magic, magic is love.  But let’s back it up a little bit so we can track how we get to love.  First is the letting go of the need to fit into this world.  Not from a place of resistance, hatred or unhappiness, but from a place of realizing that you can’t serve this world and perceive the magic beyond it if you are attempting to fit into it.  So its really a love for this world that inspires you to move beyond the need to fit into it.  Second, is the questioning of everything you’ve been told about this world.  You must dismantle your own beliefs about solidity and physicality being the only reality.  Next you must dismantle your beliefs about what you think you are and through that develop an intense hunger to know yourself beyond, to know spirit, as that is what you are beyond this physical body-personality.  This opens you into the heart and into the world of magic.  Your heart is the gateway into perceiving beyond the senses, to accessing infinite energy, to capabilities beyond your current capabilities, to greater ease, effortlessness and playfulness in the world of magic.   It becomes harder and harder to deny what you are, to deny spirit, to deny the aliveness that makes up the world.  You embrace and accept more and more this aspect of creation, and as you do it reveals itself and you directly experience it more and more as your everyday reality.  The key is love.  Nothing more than that.  Everything which you need is already here.  May the revealing of spirit and magic become the ever present reality within with you experience all of life.

Body-Mind-Spirit

Body-Mind-Spirit

Where’s Spirit?

Meditation - flower of lifeWe are all body-mind-spirit complexes.  Many of us are aware of the fact that we have a body and a mind.  Less of us are aware of the fact that we have a spirit.  Conceptually it may seem obvious to us that we have a spirit however experientially many of us may not be making direct contact or have direct knowing of our spirit.  In fact often times when we do make contact with our spirit we may experience a few moments of bliss and then our minds comes plunging in trying to make sense of it all or even deny, forget, or flatten the experience of spirit altogether.

Why is it that even when we have been on a spiritual seeking path for many years that spirit remains an elusive mystery to us in our direct day to day experience?  Why do we continue to attempt to rationalize spirit and put it in some kind of box to make sense of it?  Our minds so badly want answers and want to feel safe, secure and like they know what is going on even when they don’t.  Because we have the tendency to heavily rely on and believe the thoughts that our minds create as the sole reality there seems to be no way around this.  The mind believes that if it can just figure spirit out then it will know what spirit is.  This would be equivalent to the body trying to sense the mind and through sensation know a thought.  A sensation however cannot know a thought, just like a thought cannot know spirit.  Meaning you can’t use your mind/thoughts to know spirit.  Your thoughts can think about spirit, this is called conceptual spirituality and where most spiritual seekers hang out, but a thought cannot directly experience and know spirit.

Just like the mind can see what might be helpful for the body, which the body can’t necessarily see on its own, the spirit knows what is helpful for the mind (and body) more so than by their independent faculties alone.  Spirit is that next level of ourselves which many of us are waking up too.  Its that intelligence which moves us into alignment and greater coherence once we make direct contact with it.  As our awareness finds spirit, spirit is revealed to us and becomes active in our day to day lives.  What then does it take to bring greater awareness to the spirit aspect of ourselves rather than being so heavily dependent on the body-mind aspects of ourselves?

Bringing spirit into greater awareness

Beliefs, worthiness and self-commitment

Man with conceptual spiritual body art

In order to bring spirit into greater awareness for your direct experience of it you must first investigate any stories and beliefs that you have about spirit which don’t support your capacity to perceive it.  Our beliefs are our filters.  They color everything we see and thus everything we will experience.  Even if we have thoughts about liking spirit or thinking spirit is real, our beliefs will trump those thoughts.  Many of us don’t even know what we believe because we haven’t ever really investigated ourselves to discover it.  Once we do find value in this self-investigative process we will begin to see ways in which our beliefs don’t support the direct perception of spirit.  If you don’t directly experience spirit at all times you can bet you have some beliefs that aren’t supporting your capacity to know spirit.

Another thing that often interferes with our direct experience of spirit is our sense of worth.  Many of us feel incredibly unworthy of spirit.  Substitute the word divine, God, or love for spirit and you may find some of these unworthy feelings arise.  If you feel unworthy of spirit you will be unable to perceive spirit, or anytime you begin to experience it, you will find some way to deflect or push away the experience.  Often people will go into their head to try and figure things out as a defense mechanism to prevent themselves from having to feel unworthy of spirit.  Allowing yourself to feel the unworthiness, rather than go into your head or flatten out your experience in some way, brings you closer to the experience of spirit.

Lastly where you place your value and focus is of prime importance.  If you only conceptually value spirit and get some sense of personal identity or validation from being a “spiritual” person this will not lead to the direct experience of spirit.  You must create a hunger so intense inside of you to know spirit.  This is how you will begin to stably experience it at all times.  Until that is your sole value you will find yourself distracted and more focused in your body-mind reference point of self.

Many will get tastes of spirit, but few will commit whole heartedly to a life where spirit is in awareness 100% of the time.  Without this commitment the value gets placed on other things and experiences which take precedence, and suffering continues as you don’t yet know yourself.  It takes a full-hearted commitment to want to know yourself completely.  When you do you activate the pure potential of life to emerge through you into a myriad of infinite expressions and into this play of forms we call creation.

Innovation of the human being

Innovation of the human being

Integration of human and spirit

Man with conceptual spiritual body artI’ve always been a little jealous of people who seem to have careers where what they do is logical, linear and certain.  They can explain in concepts and visuals what they do, which makes sense to the minds of others.  Where there is a service or product that performs a specific reproducible function and everyone perceives the direct value in it for them, like being a chef, delivering the mail or selling toilets.

It seems that the role I incarnated to play has not been those things.  Instead I appear to be in the position to help man/woman realize, become and integrate his/her spiritual nature (mostly unknown to people outside of conceptual thinking) into their known human being existence, through expanding their perception (how they view reality) and thus changing the structure and form that make up everything from the human body to all forms on this planet.  I’ve pursued this through taking on the commonly known profession of chiropractic, which at its original tenants and core intentions has always been about reconnecting man the human to his/her spiritual nature through clearing interference in the nervous system, the nervous system being that which transmits our nonphysical self into this human form so that we might know who and what we really are.

Unfortunately over the years most of the chiropractic profession has gone for acceptance in the mainstream culture rather than sticking to its roots and so the public has come to know us as “back pain specialists”.  With this most of chiropractic has became devoid of spirit like all other medical professions, and the fundamental aspect that heals once again being left out of the picture.  The human body being seen as a machine with broken parts that need fixing rather than the recognition of the essence of what we are, which is the healer of all, and bringing that more and more into the direct experience for each being.

There is a universal intelligence and an intelligent energy which is the expression of this intelligence.  Call it spirit, soul, essence, source, truth or whatever you would like.  It is all the same one thing.  It does not care if you believe in it or not.  It is.  It can’t not be.  It is who and what you are beyond the form you identify yourself as, even if you deny its existence.  It is you.  When people first begin to experience this they might notice energy moving throughout their body.  They might notice their body wanting to move on its own  without them volitionally moving their body.  This intelligence is beyond thought, but is inclusive of thought.  However because it is beyond thought the mind solely can not and will not ever be able to figure it out no matter how hard it tries.  In order to contact this intelligence it requires that the human mind develop trust and faith, for without that you will not be able to penetrate the thick and seemingly solid barriers that the mind creates to deny your own existence.   It is also helpful to be in the presence of beings that have already penetrated those mental barriers as they will create a field that will give you greater permission to contact this intelligence and intelligent energy (aka you) if your openness to it and desire for it is strong.

So how do you fit all of that into a 60 second elevator speech or even a 30 minute conversation?  Now you can see why sometimes I wish I could just say “I sell toilets”.  Ha, but no I decided to become a human being innovator, literally upgrading the human being, how they perceive and function, so that this next level of ourselves can move from unknown to known, from mysterious to undeniable.

Child Walking in Woods to Glowing Red DoorThe thing about being a human being innovator is that there is not a magical recipe.  Yes there are patterns to things, things that can be observed and seem to be common to most people’s experiences, but its not always cut and dry.  We are not patterns, we are infinite beings of wisdom and love.  In that each being has their own set of experiences in whatever the ways are that they need to experience.  The expressions are infinite and as much as it is a mystery to you it is also a mystery to me until it reveals itself.  I’m not privy to any secretive information.

Above all else I trust that intelligence which knows and see my role as energizing and activating that as much as I possibly can so that your own wisdom and love can inform and move you.  I do not get to decide what occurs or what reveals itself.  I simply come into agreement with that which knows and have faith in the perfect orchestration of whatever reveals itself in whatever ways it does, even if that means that my mind (or your mind) doesn’t like the experience that you are having.

Despite my best attempts to map things out and make them linear I feel like I have often failed or come up short.  Trying to put things into boxes that don’t have boxes in order to make them relatable to minds that will never totally get it because they’re not meant too.  I’ve definitely left gaps, missed pointers and all the while have been “figuring it out” myself as its been revealed to me.  What I’ve come to accept, sometimes grudgingly so, is that for those that want certainty, controlled responses or to only feel certain states of being (like only feeling good and never feeling bad) my work is typically not for them.  Not everyone is ready to surrender the control that their mind has over them.  That is not a judgment, its simply a stage of development, and we are ready when we are ready.  It is however, as I see it, the next stage of our human development and why I believe I am incarnated at this time.

So a huge thank you to all of you who come to see me and are bravely walking forward on the path of innovation of the human being.  I love you all.  For truly without you none of this is possible.  Thank you for your help in the transition of this planet, for challenging your beliefs, shifting your perspectives, and being willing to see yourself as more then your mind sees even when that more is not yet fully seeable.
