Your Body is an Expression of You

YOUR BODY IS AN EXPRESSION OF YOU

All pervasive intelligence

Most people think of their body as a thing or object that they identify as being, but also feel separate from.  It is a bit of a paradox how we can both identify as being our body and also feel as though the body is operating on its own, separate from us.  How is it that we feel intimately connected, and simultaneously disconnected, from our bodies?  One thing is clear, which is at some point our body stops breathing.  Some people believe that is the end of their existence, while others believe that they continue to exist in spirit, without the form of a body.  Regardless of what you believe there needs to be some resolution regarding the relationship we have with this body while there is breath breathing into it.

For most people it’s obvious that there is an intelligence that exists, which informs and gives life to the physical form.  Some people might call this intelligence themselves.  Others might make distinctions between their mental or cognitive awareness and the awareness of their body.  If we zoom out for a moment we could say that there is just one source of intelligence, which then expresses itself in a multitude of ways.  Some of those expressions of intelligence might form thoughts that help you know how compose music, read a map or learn mathematics.  While other expressions of that intelligence organize the cells of your body, regulate your hormones and provide the capacity to physically move your arms and legs.  One intelligence, different functions.  This intelligence is aware.  It has the capacity to self-regulate and self-know.  It includes our mind and all of its thoughts, questions, clarities and confusions, but it is a container larger than them.  It includes our body, but yet again is larger than our body.

In this way you can think of your body inside of your awareness, rather than your awareness being inside of your body.  Yes your awareness is in your body too, but your body is not the source or seat of your awareness.  Awareness comes first as all pervasive intelligence and then the your body is an expression inside of your awareness.  A projection of your awareness rather than some separate object or thing that houses your soul.  Your soul is the house, and your body sits inside of your soul,   I understand this is a different view from how most see themselves and their body, and it may take some contemplation to grok what I am pointing to here.  If you do however, you will see how you are intimately connected with your body as an extension or expression of your essence, and how it is always responding to you as its source of intelligence.

SELF AS AWARENESS

Including soul intelligence

The recognition of your body being inside of your awareness puts you in different relationship to your form.  The perspective of seeing yourself in your body brings with it limitation.  Limits to what you can know, see, experience and be.  If you are solely in your body you can only gain information based on the sense information that you can feel with your body.  There isn’t much else to available to you.  No other avenues of knowing or experiencing.  While tuning into the sensations in our body can be incredibly beneficial for physical survival, that’s where the buck stops so to speak.  We can, if we so desire, take this one step further and combine sensorial experience with mental knowledge.  We have ideas, concepts and can make relative connections between sensations and the ideas we have about things.  Essentially we are using the intelligence of our mind and body to navigate.  Examples of this including realizing that our belly hurts because we ate too much sugar, or that we are feeling sick because our child had a cold last week that they passed onto us.  We can make logic out of sensations in the body in this way.

Sometimes this is all we need to know, and sometimes there is still more to discover.  This is where we bring in the intelligence of your heart.  I’m not talking about your physical heart, but rather the intelligence that knows without learning and sees clearly without using the physical eyes.  We could interchangeably use the word soul.  While you as awareness are even beyond soul, let’s keep it here for now.  When we include soul inside of our awareness we have another level of perspective. Not only can we can tune into sensations in our physical body, have our context or story about them from our mental faculties, but we can also see the purpose, perfection and soul learning of whatever the sensation represents.  We can see how what is being created in our body reflection, perfectly serves whatever it is we want to know, experience and learn on a soul level.  The sensation might be prompting us to take action in some way that we’ve been dragging our feet.  It might show us how we want to behave differently in some aspect of our life.  Where we might need to slow down, simplify or be more present.  It may show us more of our true self or nature, and what we know ourselves to be but haven’t fully owned yet.

When we recognize that we are not the body, but that the body is inside of us, we experience it as a projection of our awareness.  It is not solid or fixed, but constantly responding to us.  It only appears solid and fixed because we create stories about it being this or that way, which gives our body the appearance of sameness.  The body is in constant flux and is mutable and changeable, just like thoughts and emotions are as they are all the same source.  When we tune into the information of the expressions our body has, and take action in the ways that our soul wants, we experience the fluidity of things.  We see just how quickly the seemingly, solid physicality can shift and change because it’s never actually been solid.  Your stability is not in your body, but in you as awareness.  Awareness, intelligence, source is what doesn’t come and go.  All appearances, including your body, do come and go.  Anything that comes and goes is not the source of stability.  Recognizing awareness as stability, and forms as fluid, frees up your creations to move about.  This spaciousness illuminates your learning more clearly and reveals the expression of the creations you want to experience.
